Polonium - 84Po: uses
The following uses for polonium are gathered from a number of sources as well as from anecdotal comments. I would be delighted to receive corrections as well as additional referenced uses.
- mixed or alloyed with beryllium to provide a source of neutrons
- used for eliminating static charges in textile mills (β-sources are more common and less dangerous)
- used on brushes for removing dust from photographic films
- thermoelectric power in space satellites
- source of neutrons
