X Number (XN) element selection

This page displays a chemical periodic table based based upon empirical data within this Chemdex database. You can plot XN grids for individual elements by selecting a single element, or all the elements in a group by selecting the group number, or all the elements in a period by selecting the period number.

Beneath the periodic table are a number of other sets of elements sometimes used when exploring periodicity.

The group (1➝18) labelling is the IUPAC numbering system. The group (G17←G0) labelling is a numbering system decreasing left to right from G17 to G0 denoting the number of electrons required from attached groups to achieve the 8-electron (octet) or 18-electron counts often associated with p- or d-block compounds.

Other element selections

Here are some other sets of elements that you might want to try. These are selected to help you evaluate suggestions regarding alternative locations of some elements in the periodic table and also other relationships referred to as "diagonal" relationships and "knight's move" relationships.
