[Yb(η⁸-Cot)₂]²⊖

Formula Unicode styled:
[Yb(η⁸-Cot)₂]²⊖
Compound name(s):
bis(η⁸-Cyclo-octatetraene)-ytterbium(2-)
Central atom:
Charge on formula unit (QN):
2–
Compound type:
Notes:

A simple electron count appears to give EN=34 but my understanding (possibly incorrect and by analogy to [Yb(η⁹-C₉H₉)₂]) is that the uppermost four electrons are antibonding, taking the electron count to 30. I'm very happy to change this if my understanding is indeed incorrect. See M. Xémard, S. Zimmer, M. Cordier, V. Goudy, L. Ricard, C. Clavaguéra, and G. Nocton, J. Am. Chem.
