Many University computers are "networked"
At its simplest this might involve the connection between one computer and
a printer. However it is common to expand a network.
- computer to computer in one building
- building to building on one site
- site to site in one organization
- organization to organization in one country
- country to country
The inter-university network in the UK is called JANET
JANET is connected to the rest of the world (Internet)
